Renault designed a test bench specifically dedicated to the characterisation of friction and wear phenomena between the synchroniser and the pinion of gearboxes. Its goal was to make the duplicated bench available to the manufacturers of synchronisers and lubricant suppliers.

Design of a duplicate test bench using the same measurement methodology and characteristics as those specifically developed by the tribology department of the Renault Technocentre materials laboratory.

Delivered results

Performance of cross-testing campaigns on reference lubricants and samples in order to adjust the influential parameters until the identical results were obtained.
