With the Ecofi project, Cetim and FRD-Codem are joining forces to promote the use of composites with low environmental impact.
The Ecofi project aims to promote product ecodesign approaches and the use of composite materials with low environmental impact. The objective is to demonstrate, from a technical, economic and environmental point of view, that it is possible to use recycled and bio-based materials, which are often not included in eco-design databases, for thermoplastic composite applications, while ensuring their recyclability and sustainability.
The Ecofi project combines the expertise of Fibres Research Development – Sustainable Construction and Innovative Eco-Materials (FRD-Codem) and Cetim. Cetim will formulate and manufacture eco-designed composites in the form of semi-finished products. It will also assess their suitability for implementation through the production of prototypes, their recyclability using recycling technology developed by Cetim, and their sustainability. RD-Codem will be responsible for selecting natural fibres and will contribute to the production and characterisation of sandwich composite materials for building applications.
The Ecofi project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Grand Est Region.
