As a wiring and manu facturing specialist of electronic equipment for the space industry, Resa must comply with very high-level requirements especially as regards to the reliability and traceability of components. “The development of our contracts and business activities led us to seek out an efficient and modern production management tool which must be suited to the needs of an SME and which will help to fulfil the current and future traceability requirements of our customers,” explained Thierry Reboul, deputy general manager. The collective action ‘Efficient and sustainable production’, coordinated by Cetim gave us the opportunity to take advantage of support from an expert of PI Consultants company. With his help, we were able to cut through the “jungle” of software existing on the market, draw up specifications, select the software and implement it in the company.” After the study, Resa selected Clipper, a computer-aided production management (CAPM) software. “Clipper is efficient and flexible enough to be fully utilisable by all personnel and thereby strengthen control of our logistics chain”, went on to add Thierry Reboul.
Positive results
Clipper has been satisfactorily operational at Resa for more than six months. “The software allowed us to integrate our five technical databases, to shorten of more than a week our receipt-storage process of components and raw material, to accelerate management of our internal warehouse and dramatically improve visibility of our procurement needs”, added Thierry Reboul.
The collective action was also an opportunity to “meet managers of companies of other sectors of activity and to share common problems. This was an especially rich melting pot”, concluded Thierry Reboul.
